PEAK Cup Crowns Warren Alexson 2008 Points Champion |

FONDA, NY - Altamont, New York “Throttle Jockey” Warren Alexson made the PEAK Racing Equipment Points Championship an exciting one by waiting till the final event of the 2008 campaign to regained the Points lead that he gave up to Chuck Alessi, the 2007 PEAK Cup Champion, in Mid – July. Alexson put his “PowderTech”, 3a machine ahead in the hard fought points battle with consistent performances in the final three events giving him a ten point edge over the # 19 Planet Wings, Delivery Wagon piloted by Alessi, when the final Checkered fell.
Warren just missed “Doubling – Up” with a fine second place finish in the Pinnacle Cup Points Championship just ten markers off of Jeremy Quick the points leader for 2008 in that race. Alexson has been a front runner for the past two seasons and we congratulate his consistent efforts and support of the CRSA.
Jeff Van Steenburg, of West Shokan, New York made a his late season charge to the front pay off with a fine third place finish in his Neigers Service Center sponsored # 1 sprinter. Veteran driver Anthony Brennan of Washingtonville, New York had the best points per race average and finished fifth in the season long tabulation in the Alessi owned # 91 Jerky Boys backed entry. Team Alessi was involved with four of the top ten drivers in the PEAK Cup points. In all twenty – one drivers scored points in this season’s race for the Cup.
All awards are to be presented at the CRSA banquet in Amsterdam, NY at the Elk’s Lodge on the evening of November 8th .
