Jeremy Quick Honored as CRSA Champion

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – The Capital Region Sprint Agency officially ended the season Saturday night at the Elk’s Lodge in Amsterdam, N.Y. The champion was honored and several special awards were handed out.

Jeremy Quick, of Kerhonkson, N.Y., became the third driver to be crowned champion of the 305 sprint car club. Besides the season championship, Quick was also honored as the winner of the first ever Pinnacle Cup. Quick was propelled to the championship after capturing two wins on the season.

Matt Tanner and Chuck Alessi were also honored for their success in the season ending Pinnacle Cup. Altamont, N.Y. pilot, Warren Alexson, won the season long Peak Cup points.

Chad King was recognized as the Most Improved Driver from 2007 to 2008. Dylan Swiernik used his one win and consistency to win the Rookie of the Year. Billy Jaycox Jr. and Tim Damiani won Hard Luck awards after they had their issues during the season.

Cliff Wright earned the Most Dedicated Car Owner award for his dedication to the sport. Wright has been in car ownership for 60 years. Mark Zemcik’s team was recognized for their dedication to the group with the Most Dedicated Team award.

The CRSA would like to thank Pete Demitraszek for his hard work in organizing the banquet as well as Checkers Out Speedway (Don Greco and staff), Tom Nare, also known as Dr. Krazy Tunes and George Smith (Outlaw Photos).

The agency also wants to thank all of our 2008 officials: Chip, Lizah and Jacob Tripp, Mike VanDusen, Pete Demitraszek, Stan Cheseboro, Tristan Grisel, Steve Boggs and Elaine Jaycox.
