FULTONVILLE, N.Y. – This past Saturday afternoon the Capital Region Sprint Agency held its annual meeting to discuss new rules for the 2009 racing season. With over 60 people in attendance, the following new rules were implemented.
1. Cars must weight 1,525 pounds. All qualified cars in heats and the top five in the feature will be weighed.
2. Mufflers are mandatory. Some events may require teams to run larger mufflers. Check CRSA website for event information.
3. Tie rod and rag link, mandatory chrome molly steel with steel heims
4. Transponders and RACEceiver is mandatory and must be working at all times.
5. All crew on four-wheelers must where a helmet when on the speedway.
6. On flat wings a two inch wicker is ok, if the wing is dished, no wicker is allowed.
7. $140 shock claiming rule is in effect at all events.
8. Fuel checks will be done at random throughout the season.
9. Any driver caught cheating with their heads will be disqualified for competition with CRSA and any other RaceSaver sanctioned club.
10. Effective in 2010, one head will be required off for inspection and valves will be weighed.
11. Only 19 of 21 races will count toward a driver’s 2009 season ending point total. Double point shows are mandatory and cannot be excluded from season point total.
