FULTONVILLE, N.Y. – Though it is only January, a new racing season is just around the corner. Right now the folks at the Capital Region Sprint Agency are busy putting together the upcoming racing schedule and collecting registration forms from drivers planning on competing with the series in 2010.
The new season kicks off at the annual series meeting on March 6 at Checker’s Out Speedway in Johnstown, N.Y. Teams are required to attend in order to get series information. It is expected that full schedules, rules and membership forms will be available. All of this information is currently available on the series website.
Although the meeting is three months away, drivers planning to compete during the 2010 season are encouraged to complete and return their registration forms for the upcoming season in order to have their information added to the series roster.
Two tracks have already confirmed their race dates for the new season including Gene Cole’s Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., which will once again have two dates. Their first event comes on Sunday, May 16 and their second event is part of a mid-week special on Thursday, June 24.
Andrew Harpell’s Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, N.Y., has booked three dates for the 2010 season. The first event is on Sunday, May 23. The second event is part of the 4th of July holiday weekend with the final schedule race falling on August 21.
Harpell has graciously added a special $500 bonus to the driver that has the best three finishes in the events at Five Mile Point Speedway.
The Capital Region Sprint Agency is currently in negotiations with several other Northeast speedways and they are expected to release more dates in the near future.
