Tanner Gets Back on Track with Second CRSA Win of 2010 at OCFS |

MIDDLETOWN, NY – Matt Tanner is the defending Capital Region Sprint Agency and up until Saturday night he only had one feature win to his credit this season.
That changed as Tanner took advantage of a fellow competitor’s mechanical problem to score his second win of the season at the Orange County Fair Speedway in the 20-lap main event.
Brett Jaycox and Curtis June were the front row for the main-event. Jaycox got the jump and led the way early on.
As Jaycox paced the field looking for his first win there was a fierce battle going on for the third position behind Tanner who ran second. Jamie Christian moved from eighth to secure the spot by the halfway point with Josh Pieniazek there as well.
It looked like Jaycox was going to cruise to the victory but trouble struck on lap 15. As he raced out in front, Jaycox’s motor shut down causing him to give up the lead to Tanner at the same time Bruno Leombruno brought out the caution as he stopped in turn four.
Tanner seized the opportunity and pulled away from Christian in the final five laps of the race for the win and to secure his place atop of the season long point standings.
Christian, in his first year of competition in a Sprint Car, finished in second while Chad King earned his best of 2010 with a third place finish.
Pieniazek, coming off a win a week prior, finished in fourth while Jeff VanSteenburg, winner last week as well, came across the line in fifth.
The Capital Region Sprint Agency is off next weekend as the Fork Mountain Raceway in Virginia host the annual RaceSaver® 305 Nationals. CRSA members John Matrafailo and VanSteenburg each have wins in events that earned them guaranteed starting positions in the A-Main for this event.
